Very good pizza the kitchen also acceptable prices to go back
If you a fan of honest Italian pizza backed in a woodstove - this is the place!
Our opinion: Best pizza in Trier. We have only had good experiences with all other dishes. Salad, noodle, steak and fish: everything is great! We have been going there for decades and have always been very satisfied. Of course, the orders don't always come to the table at the same time: the pizza is baked in the wood oven, the other dishes come from the "normal" kitchen.
The food is really delicious, but having to wait 1 (actual, not perceived) hour for your meal is definitely too much.
Friendly rustic furnishings, nice attentive staff, great taste, size of the pizza resembles a wagon wheel, highly recommended, nice selection
I cannot entirely agree with the other recessions. Yes, the pizzas taste very good if you like thin pizzas. However, I think the prices are overpriced (Small Margaritha € 10). My pizza Calabrese had little cheese and very little sausage (had to be looked for!). Instead, a lot of inexpensive onion. When I asked, it was only said that most of the customers do not like the spiciness of the sausage. And that although the sausage was described as "spicy" on the menu. Stingy is probably cool here and more of an excuse. Sorry, not like that. Unfortunately.
Big pizza, lots of choice, delicious
The small pizza was delicious 😊😊
Very tasty pizza we got a place even without a reservation
gigantic and delicious pizza, wonderful red wine, restaurant with beautiful decoration and perfect service.
Large portions, good taste. Staff nice
- Delicious pizzas (the small version is also large) - Indoor & outdoor - friendly service, but with regard to the drinks it can be a dry stay if you don't attract attention.
Nice dinner in this authentic Italian restaurant! The best of Trier, don't try the rest (speak from experience) 😉
The dishes are always very good. Gluten free is not a problem at all. We are happy to give up there.
Unfortunately that was nothing! Apart from the good base, the pizza was very sparsely topped and extremely dry in places. I won't accept the bad excuse that the oven will mess up if the pizza is filled to the edge or if the size is not possible (especially since I ordered Pizza Rucola e Parma - and this is known to only be done after baking occupied ...). At 16 Eur the device is also quite expensive. Beer 4.80 EUR - is shown cheaper in the card and was billed incorrectly ... Well, it was worth a try ... you were not really capable of criticism or insight (see also owner comments on other negative entries). Overall disappointing
The restaurant says "Original Italian" So fir soup minestrone was good. We ordered spaghetti frutti di mare and tagliatelle tonne. When we got our plates we saw that the noodles were swimming in the cooking water, not to mention the look of the few pieces of fish, in short “indispensable” so as not to be disgusting. And to top it off, not a drop of tomato sauce. The waiter was still at our table when we called him back immediately to complain. After a long talk that the pasta at the Italian restaurant didn't get any sauce, the waiter wanted to throw sauce on it. I paid for the drink and the soup, we picked up and left. I definitely don't recommend this restaurant to anyone where you can get white pasta. !!!
Absolutely superb pizzas, soup however mediocre and the salad sauce unfortunately soggy. Waiters Italian-casual, ambience ok. The four stars are justified for the extremely tasty pizzas alone. Recommendation: Eat pizza, drink a house wine and avoid the rest!
Best Italian in Trier. Very tasty dishes. Price-performance ratio is right, as the portions are huge. Very, very nice, great staff. We are there at least once a week.
Excellent pizza and pasta. Consistently good. Always friendly and courteous. Always my pleasure.
Family-run ristorante / pizzeria with very nice staff. Friendly and helpful. The food tasted excellent and it was excellent value for money for the location in the city center. To recommend: ??? Simply everything .... it tastes everything and is prepared with amore. Oh, by the way, I've been going there for more than 35 years ... and for good reason. Empfehlenvery recommendable !!
Pizza 🤗
Great food and service - the large pizza is very large!!! A nice spot for lunch.
I recommend you this place. The cuisine is delicious, the waiters speak Italian and are very kind. They also offer gluten and lactose-free dishes a marvel! It's a great place to eat Italian food. Furthermore they cook glutenfree et lactose free dishes. It was wonderful.
Outstanding pizza! We were sad to have only discovered this place a few months before moving away. Highly recommended!
My favourite Pizza place.
I'm Italian. I've been there twice, first time wasn't completely bad even if the portions were too small... Tragedy occurred the second time...to be honest I never been in a restaurant bad like this one. Asked portion for two people of fish/seafood (22€) they brought us a tray full of nothing...almost nothing of anything. Taste was bad. So then I ordered a portion of "spaghetti allo scoglio"...taste and consistency were that bad that I couldn't even finish it and this never happened to me. So NEVER AGAIN.
Amazing pizza
Amazing!
Top
Best Italian restaurant in Trier. Always friendly service and delicious food!
Nice atmosphere good food. A relaxed place.
Good pizza
One of the best Pizzas in Trier (althought there are many other good ones like san marco and losteria)
Super!
Pizza was decent but the waiting time was way too long.
Pizzas are really awesome! Just dont get served by the young arrogant italian boy, he can surely change your appetite...
Good quality pizza. Not a bargain but definitely worth it.
Amazing pizza
Great pizza. Customer service was ok.
Amazing Pizza , really authentic!
Good, friendly service and good dishes.
Just the best Pizza worldwide! Unbeaten.
a great experience - the Pizza has a perfect taste and it is like 2 years ago will get a real great Pizza and very tasteful - if its to big, you can ask for a take away - classic italian wines like Soave, Pino Grigio, Chianti - no Barolo You have to reserve a seat if you are coming in groupe yummy, yummmmmmmmy
For me the best pizza in Trier. The rest of the food is ok but you don´t come here for pasta or meat dishes. Expect a wait time in peek hours for your pizza as the oven has a limited capacity and this is not Pizza Hut. Reservation is also recommended for peek hours and large groups.
Arrogant service, you have to wait about 1 hour for your meal (2 Pizza's and one Lasagne...). Dishes of average quality. NOT a single word of being sorry for the delay! Even a "grappa della casa" (offered by the house as an excuse for the delay- goes without saying in really -even average class - Italian Restaurants) was refused by the waiter. Same for the coffee (espressi - would be a commercial gesture) There are lots of other Pizzerias in Trier, so try to avoid da Franco's. They really don't need guests to come back again. Poor culture and a blame for the Italians.
Mediocre food and service, annoying buzzer every 5 minutes. Not recommended.
I've been coming to da Franco for almost 7 years now and I've still yet to have anything other than the best pizza. A great staff and friendly owner only add to how much I enjoy this place. Great pizza and great atmosphere. I've tried a few other italian joints in Trier, but this is the place that keeps me coming back.
